OUR PROBUS story

The Probus Club of Albany Creek was established on 2nd July 1998. The Club has as its membership retired and semi-retired men and women who meet in a spirit of fellowship, friendship and fun. We meet on the first Thursday of each month (except January) from 10.00am until noon at the Aspley Hornets Club at Carseldine. Our meetings begin with a small amount of Club business, a five minute speaker, followed by morning tea with time for general fellowship.  We then welcome a guest speaker who presents on a topic of interest to members.

The Club has two groups who meet on a regular basis. The male Pelicans meet bi-monthly for a popular lunch of fish and chips and the ladies have their “therapy ” luncheons which are well attended. We always celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. Our group activities are very popular and these include morning teas, meals at various venues, trivia competitions, and BYO BBQ’s.  We have regular day tours by bus and boat. These have included a guided tour of the Port of Brisbane, a visit to the Cabarlah Markets, Dolly Parton & Abba tribute events , and boat trips to Bribie Island, Gold Coast and along the Brisbane River. We also have five day bus tours to venues such as Stanthorpe and Coffs Harbour.
