About Our Club:
The Probus Club of Albany Creek is a friendly, welcoming group of retired and semi-retired men and women who enjoy staying active, social and connected. Our members come from all walks of life, and we share a simple goal - to enjoy good company, good conversation, and good fun.
We meet on the first Thursday of each month for an engaging morning of friendship, guest speakers, and updates on upcoming activities. Between meetings, members take part in a wide range of outings, interest groups, and social events that help keep us learning, laughing and exploring new experiences together.
Whether you are new to the area, recently retired, or simply looking to expand your social circle, you will find a warm welcome here. Probus is all about friendship, fellowship, and fun, and our Club embraces that spirit wholeheartedly.
Our Policy: As an organisation we do not engage in fundraising activities.
Thinking of Joining Us?: Currently our membership is full with another 15 on our wait list. Unfortunately, for now we are unable to accept any more Visitors or Enqiries about new memberships.

OUR PROBUS story
Following tradition, the Rotary Club of Albany Creek decided during the 1997-1998 year there were enough possible candidates to sponsor a Probus Club with members drawn from Albany Creek, Aspley and adjacent areas. After inaugural meetings of the interested prospective members, the first general meeting was held on 2 July 1998 at the Aspley Bowls Club. (Subsequently the Club met at the Chermside Bowls Club, Hornets Club, Tavernetta Function Centre and for several years now at Hornets Club.)
In the first Bulletin (Newsletter), 57 people were listed as members. Unfortunately, through passings and resignations only 4 of the 57 are still members: Ron Day, Lillian Schloss (now Day) and Bill and Val Maxwell. (Ron Day assisted greatly in the Clubs formation. At that time he was District Probus Chairman and a member of the Rotary Club of Aspley.)
The Club is affiliated with the Probus Association of Queensland Inc, accredited by Probus South Pacific Ltd (PSPL) and Incorporated with the Queensland Office of Fair Trading. A Management Committee of 10 members is elected annually in accordance with the Club's Standing Resolutions. They are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Officer, Programmes Officer (speakers), Activities Co-ordinator, Hospitality Officer, Welfare Officer and Bulletin Editor. (The Past President is a non-elected member of the Management Committee.)
The Management Committee meets on the last Thursday of the month (except December) before the general meeting which is held on the first Thursday of the month (except January). Established procedure is that the position of Vice President rotates between a male and a female member each year. They occupy that position for one year then become President for one year then Past President for one year. Other members of the Management Committee can occupy their positions for 3 years which can be extended at a general meeting of the Club. (Four current members of the Management Committee have had their occupancy extended.)
The Club has a monthly Bulletin (Newsletter) which is distributed by email and available in hard copy at each general meeting.
