Pelicans Group

The formation of the Pelicans Group occurred in 2007 when a Fishing Social Group was created by a small number of Club members. The name of the group came about when first time fisherman Don Greenway upon catching his first fish – a nice bream – left it flapping about near the waters edge.

A local Pelican seized the opportunity to grab the catch and took off with it. Hence the origin of the Groups name.

The Clubs Pelicans Group meet bi-monthly for a boys day out at either the Albany Creek Tavern, or at Fish On Line at Aspley, or at Fish Lips which is located at 10 Woodhill Drive Ferny Hills.

Arthur or Barry will send members a reminder email prior to the next meeting date together with details of venue location.

Lunch normally commences around 12 noon so it's a good idea to arrive between 11.45am and noon.
