Dolly Parton’s story is that she was born in Tennessee in 1946. She went on to have a decades long career singing country music. Her songs have captured the hearts of generations. Her personal dream was to make as many people happy as she could in her lifetime.
She began her career at the age of just six years performing as a child at her local church, and then singing on the local radio and television programs in East Tennessee. As they say the rest is history!
Some of her many top songs were “I will always Love You”, “Here You Come Again”, “Jolene”, “Love Is Like A Butterfly”, and “9 to 5” just to mention a few. Her career has spanned some sixty years and she has been described as a “country legend”. Sales of her songs have topped US $100 million making her one of the best selling music artists of all time. Twenty five of her singles reached the No 1 slot and she has had forty four career Top 10 country albums, which is a record for a female artist.
