MOVIE MORNING at EVENTS CINEMA CHERMSIDE
The Chermside Event Cinema activity is an opportunity to see a movie and enjoy some time with other Club members for a very reasonable price. The ticket price is just $13. This includes a cup of tea, or coffee, and a Snack Pack. Contents of a Snack Pack usually consists of a muffin, or sliced cheese and crackers, plus a chocolate. There are also gluten free packs available.
Seating for members will be available in a “block” so we can all sit together. The film for us to watch will be “Bridget Jones, Mad about the Boy”. This is a romantic comedy film. Cast includes Renee Zellweger, Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, and Colin Firth. Date is Wednesday, the 19th of February 2025. Start time is expected to be around 10.00am to 10.30am. Please check the start time before heading off to the cinema. The session will run for around two hours.
The intention here is to try and make this a regular monthly event for members. The initial numbers will provide us with a good indication of how many “regulars” are likely to be part of this new Club activity. The inaugural event will be on a Wednesday morning. If that proves unsuitable then we can shuffle the day around to suit. Our initial cinema visit will be on a morning with a program designed for patrons older than fifty five. This means we will share the cinema with other movie goers around our age! If the number of regular attendees from our Club are say around twenty members, then Event Cinema are willing to locate us in a small theatre for our exclusive use.
Parking at Westfield is two hours of free parking if you are a Non-Westfield member, and four hours free parking for Westfield Members. You can sign up for Westfield Membership online – https://www.westfield.com.au/membership – Its free for anyone to join. You just need to add your number plate to your membership and you will be good to go for four hours of free parking. Process is quite simple and straightforward. Give some thought also to car pooling if you have a vacant seat or two.
If you would like to have lunch after the movie there are a large variety of food outlets to chose from within the Westfield Chermside complex. And if you prefer to use a Brisbane City Council bus to travel to and from the movie activity then the BUZ route is number 333.
